Membership

Union Members shall be all persons registered by the

University as candidates for degrees, diplomas, certificates or other academic distinctions or awards and such other persons as the Academic
Board may, from time to time, determine.

Prospective Members are new or returning students who have applied to the University to pursue studies that lead to a recognized academic award and have been offered a place by the University to pursue such.

Structure of the Students' Union Council

The Students' Union Council shall be divided into three (3) sectors:

a. The Students' Union Council of Executives

b. The Board of Representatives

c. The Board of Director

The Students' Union is a non-partisan/non-sectarian organization with respect to affiliation to any social, political, cultural or student organization. Only the Students' Union Council of the University of Technology, Jamaica shall be authorized to use the name and emblem of the Students' Union in the execution of its duties.

Motto: The motto of the Students' Union is, To Serve and to Represent.
